In this video I change the transmission fluid on my 2016 Mercedes Sprinter van. After watching other YouTube videos, it seemed pretty straight-forward.. However, those videos were NOT talking about 4 cylinder Sprinters (which is what I have)..
After draining my transmission fluid, I got stuck in the Home Depot parking lot for a week! Another #vanlife adventure :P
I learned the hard way that 2014, 2015, & 2016 4cyl 7-speed Sprinters have a 722.9 transmission - which requires a couple special tools & a very different process to change the transmission oil & transmission filter. This is because there is no transmission fill-cap under the hood. So you have to pump your ATF up into the transmission through the transmission drain (where the old fluid came out).
Still, if done yourself, it will save you a couple thousand dollars & will empower the heck out of you & possibly make you grow a hair on your chest! (& it really isn't that hard)
