Dale just bought a $2500 Jeep Grand Cherokee WK to replace his tired Mercedes ML320, which has been with us through several Gambler 500s and beyond. He wanted to stay with Mercedes but the next generation ML W164 did not have a low range, so he opted for a cheap and sketchy 2008 Jeep diesel that popped up on Facebook Marketplace, which is half Mercedes, half Jeep, ish.

In 2007 and 2008, Jeep CRD models were powered by Mercedes-Benz OM642 3.0L V6 engines. This one in particular smelled strongly of diesel when it pulled up, and had the engine cover in the trunk area. In this video, Dale goes through the amazing sketchy "features" of this Jeep, such as the amazing amounts of RTV on one of the intercooler pipes, or the household plumbing pipe holding in a breather hose. Dale wants to use this as his next offroader. Sounds like a bad idea to me!
