On April 27, 1924, the Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft factory driver Christian Werner records the first major race victory for the new Mercedes 2-litre racing car at the iconic Targa Florio – the most fascinating race of that time!

Now, to celebrate its 100th anniversary, Mercedes-Benz Classic is on a mission to restore this legendary vehicle to its former glory. Wanting to get the 100-year-old racing car back on the road in its original condition the specialists from the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center in Stuttgart are digging deep into the archive, preserving what's salvageable and reproducing missing parts as original as possible using historic documents.


Will this iconic race car conquer the Targa Florio in 2024 again 100 years after its first victory?
