We are back with my 2013 SL550 Mercedes After 5,000 miles from the first pan fluid change doing a fluid change. AMSOIL fuel efficient ATF fluid exceeds the OEM specification for the 7-speed 722.9 Mercedes transmission.

The 722.9 Mercedes transmission holds about four and a half quarts of ATF fluid in the pan and the total fill is 9.5 quarts. We also put a fresh WIX transmission filter on and clean the transmission pan magnets. This service is best performed every 30,000 mi or 5 years whichever comes first on a vehicle like this. If you are doing all highway driving you could go longer.
I will be changing the fluid on my vehicle every 25,000 miles because of the high heat in Las Vegas. For every 18° hotter a fluid runs at oxidizes at twice the rate.
