Rear transmission mounts do wear out and collapse. Inspection and replacement are an easy D.I.Y. job if you have to equipment to safely jack up and support the car high enough to allow working under the rear of the transmission. You will need a good floor jack to raise the transmission just enough to pull the old mount out and put the new one in.
