This external sound capture has a lot of low-frequency content ... on a phone it can sound wimpy. With good speakers, it sounds about 1/2 as awesome as when you're there!
This video is from the 2022-Jul-18 "Lapping Day" day at Mission Raceway in BC (Canada) put on VCMC Motorsport Club (https://vcmc.ca/). I hope some people will find it interesting and/or informative.
This was another "mostly rain" track day in my 2020 AMG GTR Pro. The morning had a completely rain-soaked track and the Cup 2 tires are virtually useless on a wet track where you can't put any heat into them. Fortunately, the last 2 sessions of the day had a track that was dry as long as you stayed "on the racing line."
Track condidions didn't encourage challenging any lap times so I was not being particularly aggressive. My primary goal was to try to erase the bad habit I've developed of "on, back off, on again, trail off" braking. While I did manage to improve, I still tend to give a small "on again" just before trailing off. Something to work on.
The GTR Pro is stock except for the following changes:
- brake fluid changed to MOTUL 666
- front/rear brake pads changed to Pagid/TiKT pads (wearing _very_ well!)
- front/rear TiKT brake-cooling ducts were installed
