Got another Mercedes that is stuck in Limp mode due to the common failed conductor plate. This is my 4th #w202 Mercedes that I picked up for under $1000. Only $680 for this one and it only has 123k miles!
Came across an ad posted for this Benz for only $800, but it was stuck in limp mode and wouldn't go past 30mph. That was pretty much the only real problem. So as soon as I saw the ad, I contacted the guy and told him I would come pick it up right away. He said to hurry because he had lots of calls on it and that's what I did. 15 minutes later I was there with cash to pick up this ride. The car started up just fine and sounded great. Gave him the money, got the title, and literally drove it home myself.
The transmission issue in these cars is commonly the Transmission Conductor Plate, so that's what I am going to replace first along with new fluids. Should be driving like new again. Did I mention the interior is in almost perfect condition?!
In this video I will show you how to get most Mercedes models out of Limp Mode. Most of the time, it's the conductor plate that has failed. It's a simple fix; however you do need the correct scanner.
