We haven't driven it yet but we were lucky enough to discover the new AMG GT Pro on the Daimler proving ground in Immendingen. A very different car compared to the previous AMG GT-R Pro, first of all because it is not based on a hypothetical R version of the AMG GT but also because at the project level, being based on the platform developed in Affalterbach for the "gentler" SL, the new AMG GT finds itself sharing technical features that make it gentler and more usable in everyday settings, almost as if those at Mercedes had the Porsche 911 (Turbo S in this case) in their sights rather than an evolution of the previous AMG GT concept.
612 HP, weight between 1800 and 1900 kg, four-wheel drive, the V8 "one man one engine" from the Star is a very fast, super-performing object that in the case of the PRO gives up the two rear seats but not an extremely generously sized trunk: versatility therefore remains a jewel in the crown of the car and despite not being the most powerful of the AMGs available today, it still represents the jewel in the crown in terms of performance between the kerbs in the context of a range that has also been enriched with a new e-performance variant with more than 800 HP.
