"Why is Hamilton's steering doing that!?" We all shouted at our screens in the February of 2020. Oh, Mercedes is running some trick steering.

Despite complaints, the FIA said it was legal but it would be banned for 2021. But it was very clever solution to a problem Mercedes had. Not only could they solve their tyre warm up issues, they could run more toe than everyone else for better cornering performance because unlike the other teams, no compromise and balance was needed.

So with F1 moving towards the ground effect era, we haven't seen anything totally outlandish that makes us all go WHAT THE!? So with that said, is this really F1's last proper piece of innovative engineering?
