Hello, friends!
Today I am going to show you how to install, virginise, personalise and activate an Engine Control Unit in a 2016 Mercedes-Benz S Coupé. This vehicle's ECU was completely dead, so I needed to adapt a new one to it. For this to happen, I first had to virginise the replacement ECU. This is made via the ABRITES Diagnostics for Mercedes-Benz menu, using the FBS4 DAS Manager. Keep in mind that the ABRITES solution for FBS4 ECU virginisation is still the only one on out there, and it is immensely helpful in situations like these.
I don't have to tell you how to connect the AVDI to the vehicle's OBDII port, you already know very well. So, moving on to the next steps of the procedure.
After virginisation, come personalisation and activation. Since the original Engine Control Unit is not working at all, I cannot take the data from it and simply transfer it. That is why I use the OEM tool, which can help me do exactly that - get the data I need to adapt the new unit.
As you can see in the video, the procedure is quite simple and straightforward. The personalisation and activation pretty much go automatically after a click or two in the Adaptations menu of the OEM software.
Watch the video and let me know what you think. Leave a like and a comment, subscribe to my channel for more! Ring the bell to receive notifications every time I upload a new video.
And most importantly, have fun!
