Washdyke is an industrial suburb at the north of Timaru. These scenes show the trucks on Hilton Highway, State Highway 1.

Timaru is a port town, on the east coast of the central South Island, halfway between Christchurch and Dunedin with a population of 28,700 (June 2020). Within two hours are recreational lakes, ski-fields and Mount Cook.

Most trucks shown are of European and American origin. Transport companies include Rooney, Fonterra, BTL, Paul Smith Earthmoving, PBT Transport, NPD, Temuka Transport, Banks Peninsula Transport, TNL, Hilton Haulage, Cooltranz, South Fuels, Strait NZ, Downlands Deer, McKeown, Marshall Transport and Summerland.

Trucks include Kenworth, Western Star, Scania, Mercedes Benz, Freightliner, Isuzu and Volvo.
