Football lawmaker IFAB rejects calls to introduce temporary substitutes for players with concussion

An open letter signed by the PFA along with multiple medical professionals has requested that players who suffer a suspected or confirmed concussion, should be allowed to be replaced by a temporary substitute.

The PFA and other signatories have made the claim that time limits prevent medical professionals from conducting comprehensive clinical evaluation. They go on to state that these 'arbitrary rules put the athlete's life at risk'.
