Another title fight going down to the wire. Just how it should be. We find ourselves at Suzuka for the final round of the Gamer Gear Direct Australian GT3 Championship.
With Nick Wood and Owen Coleman separated by just 102 points (when allowing for the drop round) it will be all there to play for for bragging rights in the Elite Class.. Between them they’ve been the benchmark for the bulk of the season with Coleman suffering a chaotic season opener at Catalunya, but rallying to have a solid points haul through the rest of the rounds.
Nick Wood has been in a thick vein of form recently with 2 poles and 2 wins from the last 2 races to solidify his position at the top of the tree at the moment. His lowest finishing position of 3rd tells the story.
Casting our eye to the Challenger Class, and again, it’s all up for grabs between Alfonso Latella and Dean Hunt being separated by just 36 points (when factoring the drop round).
The pair have both had solid runs despite the odd hurdle hear and there, but no doubt tensions will be fever pitch as we close out the season!!
The racing in the GT3’s is set for a 2 hour race, with a 65% fuel tank ensuring there will be a bit of strategy to play out along the way.
