We start putting the Tesla model 3 rear rive unit back together and reinstall it back into the car.
Installing the inverter on the replacement drive unit first then putting on the mounting brackets.
This motor is very heavy like 300 lbs. so we both were struggling to carry it in place.
We moved the rear subframe and motor assembly under the car to get ready to raise it up.
After raising it up we started bolting down everything, plugging in coolant lines and wire harnesses.
Once the motor connections were complete we powered the car back on to test before lowing the jacks.
According to the notifications there seemed to be a few errors associated with a part I didn't realize I needed to swap with the old one.
The part I needed to take of old motor was the resolver and temp sensor for motor windings. Image of that part here: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/753269427515949166/1021602520566603847/20220912_143309.jpg
After swapping out this part the errors went away and the car didn't need any programing.
Being able to change out a Tesla motor over a weekend was a big surprise how easy it was.
Granted It would have been only a few hours job in a shop setting with everything available.
Doing this in your garage is possible just have to take your time and be careful!
