Welcome to my Race Strategy Guide for Daily Race C 2/1/23 around Bathurst - Mt. Panorama on Gran Turismo 7
This Daily Race features Gr.3 cars around Bathurst - Mt. Panorama with Mandatory Racing Medium and Racing Hard Tyres.
BoP - ON
Laps - 10
Tyres - X8
Fuel - X3
The car I will be using for this Race: Ford Mustang Gr.3
STRATEGY TLDR;
Start the race on Racing Medium Tyres, Pit on Lap 4 for Racing Hard Tyres. Fuel Saving is not required DO NOT refuel at the pitstop.
NOTE: You might be able to pit on lap 5 if you’re really good at tyre management but lap 5 can be a bit sketchy across the top of the mountain so I think you’re better off pitting on Lap 4 and might be able to undercut some cars with clean air.
You could also do the opposite and start on Racing Hard Tyres and pit on lap 6 for Racing Medium Tyres, both strategies will work but starting the race on Racing Hard Tyres will put you at a massive disadvantage across the top of the mountain to those on Racing Medium Tyres.
NOTE: Im using Traction Control level 1 for this car and track combo, it keeps the car a little more stable through the low to medium speed corners.
The Ford Mustang Gr.3 has one of the highest top speeds in Gr.3. Since the Supra has been nerfed we need to find something else. I Found the Mustang to have a good balance between handling and top speed for this track.
The mustang is a little bit heavy to drive tho but once you get used to it you will find it to be very stable to drive. In hard braking zones make sure to do most of your braking in a straight line or you will understeer quite a bit.
The Nissan GTR 13’ will always be an option but I found that it has too much understeer around Bathurst for my driving style.
The Mercedes AMG is also a decent car and will be a viable option this week.
Bathurst is one of my favourite tracks to drive but I could be a little biased. The top section of the mountain is a little tricky but once you understand the line you can take it almost full throttle.
I did a custom race with the same settings as the Daily Race for testing reasons and to get a clean race without being hit off.
I have the Traction Control set to level 1 for this Video but that’s personal preference and you can choose whatever setting you want, although having it set higher will cost you time so its worth getting used to a low level of Traction Control or turning it off all together would be even better.
I also show my steering and pedal inputs via a couple of cameras to show my inputs if that interests you.
