Design: The further-developed design exudes even greater sportiness while showcasing the technical expertise. S-Class Coupé and Cabriolet feature front aprons with chrome-plated front splitter and voluminous air inlets. The dynamic looks are enhanced by restyled side skirts and chrome-plated twin tailpipe trims with a V12 look.

OLED tail lights: The innovative OLED tail lights are a new feature. The total of 66 ultra-flat OLEDs act like floating elements inside the tail light; in addition, they emit a highly homogeneous light pattern in all directions and form a unique day and night design.

New V8 biturbo engine: The new V8 biturbo in the S 560 Coupé (fuel consumption combined: 8.0 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 183 g/km) and S 560 Cabriolet (fuel consumption combined: 8.7 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 199 g/km) consumes up to eight percent less fuel than its predecessor. The turbochargers positioned in the V of the cylinder banks are another special feature. The new V8 has an output of 345 kW (469 hp) with torque of 700 Nm. In the Coupé, four cylinders are shut off in the partial load range with the aid of CAMTRONIC valve adjustment. This reduces the pumping loss while improving the overall efficiency of the remaining four cylinders by shifting the operating point towards higher loads.

New driving assistance systems with extended functions: The S‑Class Coupé and Cabriolet are taking a further large step towards autonomous driving with new or functionally considerably extended driving assistance systems. Active Distance Control DISTRONIC and Active Steering Assist now provide even more comfortable support for the driver to keep a safe distance and steer. The speed is now adjusted automatically ahead of bends or junctions.

ENERGIZING comfort control: It links various comfort systems in the vehicle. It systematically uses the functions of the climate control system (including fragrancing) and the seats (heater, ventilation, massage), the wall heating as well as lighting and musical atmospheres, and enables a specific wellness set-up tailored to the mood and need of the customer. This enhances well-being and performance.

Control and display concept: The interior is characterised by a new Widescreen Cockpit with a brilliant, high-resolution display. The all-digital cockpit offers the three visually very different styles "Classic", "Sporty" and "Progressive". As new features, touch control buttons are set in the steering wheel, and DISTRONIC and cruise control are now operated via controls directly on the steering wheel. Voice control has been extended to include vehicle functions such as climate control and seat heating/ventilation, interior lights, fragrancing/ionisation, massage function in the seats and the head-up display.

Telematics system: The latest COMAND Online generation offers fast 3D hard disc navigation. Near Field Communication transforms the smartphone into a digital vehicle key.

Anti-theft alarm system (ATA): This improved optional feature operates with highly sensitive sensors and new software. If the parked vehicle suffers an impact or is towed, the system sends a "push notification" to the Mercedes me app. As soon as the customer starts the vehicle again, he/she is also informed by a corresponding COMAND Online display.

Concierge service: Mercedes me connect customers are able to use numerous individual services, including a personal concierge.

MAGIC BODY CONTROL: The seeing suspension with curve tilting function has been significantly improved (optional equipment for S 560 Coupé). The system's new stereo camera works at speeds of up to 180 km/h.
