The second generation coupe will be a plug-in hybrid: according to preliminary data, the Mercedes-AMG GT 53 E Performance Coupe will be equipped with a hybrid power plant based on a gasoline 3.0-liter inline turbocharger, which works in tandem with the electric motor located on the rear axle. The model is expected to have a 4Matic all-wheel drive system, and the combined power of the system will make about 680 hp. The range on a single charge in purely electric mode will be about 20 km.
