We take you through On-vehicle electronics diagnostic reset of Service indicator Light with a diagnostic scan tool after Oil change/Service on an internal combustion engine .SERVICE RESET is a form of reminding the computer of the car that service has been done hence programming the system to Normal.
The service soon,Miles Exceeded or Service Due warning light comes on the instrument Cluster as a malfunction warning to remind you to carry out service,and after service has been done,a Diagnostic scan tool has to be hooked to program the memory of the PCM Power control Module (Engine Control Module).
This is valid for Mercedes Benz and all other cars having and internal combustion Engines/Hybrids with the Trip Service counter.
This video is made on - Mercedes Benz W164 ML350 4MATIC and the service reset is valid on all Mercedes Benz Classes with trio counters.
