In today's video we cart the muck from the yards out to pit field ready for spreading, we then take delivery of the AH spreader and hook it up to the New Holland T7.245 AutoCommand and set it up for muck spreading over the weekend. The muck spreader can process 18 tonnes of muck per load. The purpose of spreading the muck is to get rid of the cows manure on the farm, and incorporate it into the soil, where it will act as a slow releasing natural fertiliser, in the form of phosphorus. We spread the muck once a year, and we hire in the AH 18 tonne model because it can spread such a large quantity in a small amount of time, and it works very well. One thing to consider with the 18 tonne model, is it does take quite a bit of pulling, therefore a higher 200-300 horsepower tractor is ideally suited to this model of spreader. It can be pulled with less, but a larger frame tractor is ideally suited to it, Enjoy!
