The classic Mercedes E class W123 was built in a different era & it has lasted over a long history.

If you do own a classic car like the W123, it would be a great idea to have your car ac checked by us. The “Tiger” was installed with a CFC R12 ac system & the refrigerant was banned in 1990. So you would not be able to top off the system with R12 anymore & if you use the common R134a refrigerant, the chemical incompatibility with the old R12 components would cause a disaster & serious damages. And there are not many workshops out there who are proficient enough to do the conversion from R12 to a R134a system without changing parts.

The entire service process was completed without removing any parts and the most cost efficient & the fastest way to make the AC cool. But, The components are old & the removal of the oil sludge could reveal areas that are corroded with tiny leaks. The premium compressor lube we used can slow this down. Scheduled AC parts replacement should be planned for preventive repairs
