The Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe is one of the few Mercs to not have to contend with a direct competitor from archrivals BMW and Audi. The BMW 8 Series Coupe is positioned at a price point closer to the S-Class Coupe, while the Audi A5 Coupe is smaller and more affordable. However, even if these competitors did offer a direct alternative, we think the E-Class Coupe would have a good chance of coming out on top - it's that good. Last year, it received a new inline-six turbocharged engine with EQ Boost, upgraded tech, and new looks. In the best E-Class tradition, the coupe is a beautifully refined cruiser and the ritzy interior is comparable to cars costing a lot more. There are more powerful AMG versions that we review separately, but the more laidback powertrain in the E450 suits the character of this coupe to a tee.
