On this particular switch and key I was able to complete the job in about 2 minutes. Usually this takes me about 15 minutes if i'm working with an original Mercedes key. This one happened to be an aftermarket key. I can extract a key password from an aftermarket key much faster than an original key.

I charge about $240 for this service. Minus some costs, I end up with a little over $200 in profits.

Some background info:
I do a lot of work for W204 chassis Mercedes cars. Those are C class cars from 2008-2014. They have a known problem with the Electronic Steering Lock. ESL. When it fails, you won't be able to start the car.

I say "when" not "if" because they are all going to fail eventually. When they do, if you call the dealership, they will quote you anywhere from $2000-$4000 to put another ESL in which will fail again in the future. I'm able to program an electronic emulator which will last a lifetime for $240.
