This short video explains how to change your early Mercedes Power Steering filter. Many older Mercedes cars and G-wagens have this filter. A lot of people don't know about this filter but it should be changed every 30K miles or so. Pre '86 cars use ATF fluid in their pumps. Since my fluid isn't that old and still looks great I didn't flush the system. If it is dark and burnt smelling you will want to flush it out all the way. In this case I just changed out the fluid in the pump only. I just feel like its a good practice for filter changes and costs so little, so why not. Cars that use this filter: 116 300SD 1978-1980
