Something is making our cars uglier, and we can do nothing about it!

In recent years several new laws and regulations have been introduced, and it seems they are ruining the aesthetics of all-new cars! To make matters worse, some of the rules and regulations that have been introduced will alter cars so much, that some relatively new cars have had to go out of production altogether!

In this video, Mat will run you through 10 aspects of cars that are having to change due to these new rules. For example, all new cars have to come with AEB sensors. This stands for autonomous emergency braking. Now of course this is important to help cars avoid collisions, the problem is, it results in large boxes having to be added to the front of new cars, and they just look awful!

But that’s not all! There are now regulations for the size of door mirrors, too. In the past you would expect to see small cars come with compact door mirrors which still served their purpose. However, in the modern day, door mirrors have to come of a certain size, and we think these mirrors just look oversized on certain cars, further ruining the aesthetics!

But of course, one of the biggest law changes that is changing new cars is the banning of internal combustion engines. Previously, the grille on the front of a car was a great way for manufacturers to show off their identity, but the removal of petrol-powered engines means the grilles aren’t required, so manufacturers are now adding plastic grilles which just lend themselves to ruining the car’s aesthetics even further!

The question is, which of these laws and regulations do you think has ruined cars the most? Let us know in the comments!
