The new Mercedes EQS has landed in Australia, and the first 2022 EQS available is the AMG EQS53 - the flagship of the lineup that costs $328K! That’s quite a bit more than the Tesla Model S Plaid, which you can’t currently order but was once priced at $187K. There is also the incoming BMW i7, which is an even more formal luxury sedan than the hatchback EQS - and will start around $250K, we think.
So, which full luxury EV would you go for? In today’s review, editor Tom Baker finds that the EQS53 is serene, sporty and accomplished, if a little thirsty on volts compared to a Tesla.
As always, we don’t accept advertising from car manufacturers, and we’re powered by Budget Direct - so this is an independent, honest review of the Mercedes EQS.
