The Mercedes GLE is best looked at as a heavily revised version of the old ML SUV. Despite the new name, it still looks very similar, but now has a more curvaceous front end with smart design details, an upgraded interior and a wide choice of engines and trim levels - included a high-performance Mercedes-AMG GLE 63.

It's not cheap, but the GLE comes with lots of equipment and the appeal of a Mercedes badge on the front. We see if it's up to the task of competing with newer SUV rivals.
