In this video we repair the metal decorative strip on a W126 door sill and remove scratches from the plastic sill by progressively finer and finer sanding followed by polishing. We also reattach door weather stripping cloth. Removing the door sill is very easy. You simply insert a plastic trim removal tool (or maybe a cloth-covered flat head screw driver) under the end of the sill and gently pry upward and then move down along the sill until it is free. To reinstall you simply place it in the original location and bump it with your hand. The clips will engage to hold it in place.

Project work time: 4 hours (includes time for glue to dry)

Materials:
Sand paper: 150, 220, 320, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1500
3M Rubbing Compound
Wenol metal polish
Gorilla Glue - Super glue
Loctite Clear Vinyl, Fabric, & Plastic Flexible Repair Adhesive
