AMG’s All-New Hot Hatch Beast! The A45 returns, reborn as a “Drift Mode” monster, joining the E63 S and GT 4 door in an exclusive club of three cars with this feature! This should tell you how serious AMG are about the hot hatch segment!!
RBR gets Rare access to the Mercedes AMG A45 4Matic+ prototype here in Arjeplog, Sweden. On a frozen lake course designed to test it’s drift abilities!
The highlight for this video is the NEW 4Matic+ system in the A45S : different to the E63S, it features an electromechanical differential with two clutches, one for each wheel. This allow immediate transfer of 100% power to either wheel, in a new “active” system, rather than the previous reactive system.
Will it be called A45? Will there be the rumoured A45 S model? Allegedly that version has 421 BHP coming from the brand new 2 let Turbo engine. An engine that’s now paired to a new 8 Speed box, to better handle the extra power.
In this review we explore:
- The Engine - a look and rumours on power
- The new 4Matic plus system
- The previous A 45 and A35
- Exterior Design clues
- Design vs A35
- Taking off the Camo!
- Co-drive
- Drifting on circle
- Drifting on handling area
- Drifting on 8 figure area
- Conclusion
