It’s drag race time!

Mat’s lining up in the latest VW Golf R, and he’s going head-to-head against a BMW M240i & a Honda Civic Type R!

Does the Golf R stand a chance? Let’s check out the stats! It’s powered by a 2-litre 4 cylinder which is good for 320hp & 420Nm of torque. It’s also equipped with four-wheel drive, and it tips the scales at 1,550kg.

The Civic Type R also has a 2-litre 4 cylinder under the bonnet, and its power is almost identical to the Golf, producing 320hp & 400Nm. However, not only is it only front-wheel drive, but it’s also a manual! But at least it’s the lightest car here, at 1,395kg.

Then we have the BMW. It’s housing a 3-litre straight-six engine that can produce 374hp & 500Nm. It’s also equipped with four-wheel drive, but it’s the heaviest car here, at 1,690kg!

So how will it play out - will the BMW’s weight prove the difference? There’s only one way to find out - LET’S RACE!
