Behind the Mercedes-Benz 2020 GLB big, grille-mounted three-pointed star is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine capable of 221 horsepower. The engine is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and either front- or all-wheel drive. Mercedes-Benz estimates the GLB zero-to-60-mph time of 6.9 seconds.
The cabin of the GLB-class borrows heavily from the recently introduced A-Class sedan—not surprising since it shares a common platform with Mercedes-Benz's smallest car. What is surprising is what passengers will find inside the interior of the GLB-Class: a third row of seats. We imagine there won't be room for adults to get comfortable in the third row, but will be a handy jump seat when an extra passenger needs a lift. Mercedes-Benz's new MBUX infotainment system is on hand to provide connectivity via its dual displays (each display is either 7.0 or 10.3 inches, depending on model); the display in front of the driver serves as a reconfigurable gauge while the central one handles the radio, phone, and navigation functions.
