This 1997 Mercedes-Benz E420 was modified under original ownership by RENNtech to their E60 RS specifications, including a wide-body conversion, a color change to red, and modification of the powertrain. Power is provided by a 6.0L M119 V8 paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission with an AMG shift program and a limited-slip differential. Additional modifications include AMG suspension components and wheels, a stainless steel RENNtech custom exhaust with tubular headers, an ASR defeat switch. The car is estimated to be one of approximately 50 E60s built by RENNtech on the W210 chassis. The RENNtech conversion included the addition of a custom body kit with fender flares and a repaint in the original owner’s choice of bright red in lieu of the factory Polar White. The cabin is trimmed in Parchment leather (205), and RENNtech additions include a custom sculpted sport steering wheel trimmed in leather and burl wood, and an E60 leather shift knob, and E60 RS embroidery on the headrests. Factory equipment includes a power glass sunroof and automatic climate control with air conditioning. The displacement of the M119 V8 was increased to 6.0 liters during the RENNtech conversion, bringing the power output to 434 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque according to RENNtech’s build sheet.
