Full review: www.carbuyer.co.uk Mercedes-Benz has a summer hit on its hands with the third generation of its SLK-Class cabriolet. Like its arch-rival, the BMW Z4, this roadster majors on comfort rather than outright performance, but the 1.8-litre turbo petrol engine is responsive, and still offers an impressive turn of speed. The suspension irons out bumps, but switching it to Sport mode stiffens it up to improve cornering performance. The interior is good quality, but the highlight is the optional Magic Sky Control roof, which features special glass that allows the driver to adjust the transparency.
