On this episode I compare a 1982 Mercedes 300D to a 2020 Toyota Camry to see the differences in two nearly indestructible sedans. The Mercedes W123 is known for its' longevity, often lasting past the 500,000 mile mark. But when it comes to reliable cars, it's hard to beat a Toyota Camry.

Now these two cars accomplish their longevity very differently. The Mercedes is equipped with a turbo Diesel engine. While slow and clattery, they are very simple and can go thousands of miles with limited service.

On the other hand, the Camry is equipped with a small, relatively simple gasoline engine. In this case the 2.5L 4-cylinder is not a powerful engine, but should be enough to keep this Camry chugging down the road.
