Today we are riding on-board Go North East: NK07 KPU/5283 - Mercedes-Benz Citaro 0530N/Mercedes-Benz Citaro. Captured here operating service X10 to Middlesbrough.

This bus was extremely overcrowded by time it left Gateshead Interchange, at Heworth Interchange several passengers stood no chance of embarking the severely overcrowded X10 service, as a consequence they remained at the bus station for a potentially long 30 minutes for the next X9.

I do believe I occupied the 'best' seat with leg room stretch through the large gap, although for many other users of the service leg room was quite restricted.

This was a very outrageous allocation presented by Go North East. Firstly, because they could have easily swapped vehicles for a Double Decker off the Tyne Valley Tens. Secondly, because Northern Trains were having one of their regular Saturday strikes which resulted in the last departure to Middlesbrough at 15:41. Overall, Go North East presented a Poor service to users of services X9/X10 with the allocation of 3x Mercedes-Benz Citaros, alongsise the 4x branded Volvo B5TLs.
