2013 Mercedes Benz CLS350 (C218) Review, Walkaround, In-Depth Tour, and Test Drive

In 2004, the first generation CLS was a game changer in the premium segment of the automotive world. It was the first to start the now popular segment of four-door coupes such as the BMW 6 Series, Audi A7, Maserati Ghibli, and even Mercedes' own CLA, which have even branched out to four-door high-riding SUV-like coupes. While this idea was a brilliant one overall, I can't help but argue that the first generation C219 CLS looks like a literal banana in today's standard. Due to this monkey business, we're all then blessed that Mercedes Benz has introduced the second generation of this amazing idea of a four-door coupe in the form of the C219 in 2011.

Based on the W212 E Class, and designed by Korean American Hubert Lee, the second generation C218 Mercedes Benz CLS is a real beauty. Having four full doors, seating for four, and being a tad bit wider, and lower than its sedan counterpart, the Mercedes Benz CLS gives the driving feel that you would want in a sporty car, the classy looks of a coupe, while also giving enough practicality to not anger your significant other over your obviously not-so-practical purchases.
