This is why Mercedes signed George Russell for 2022 and beyond! This means that Russell will replace Valtteri Bottas, but why have Mercedes done so?

After filling in for Lewis Hamilton in the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix, which was a de facto audition for the Mercedes drive, George Russell has been promoted from Williams up to the main Mercedes team in 2022. This comes after months of speculation and 3 seasons at Williams. Valtteri Bottas finds himself looking for a place elsewhere.
