A chauffeur has been told he is no longer welcome at any of the Sytner Mercedes centres - despite a mechanic taking his £40,000 Mercedes car on a joy ride.

Chauffeur David Argust had left his new E300 AMG at the Sytner Mercedes Bristol garage for a warranty repair on a wheel sensor.

But he was shocked when he realised a mechanic and apprentice had taken the car for a spin to a nearby supermarket, while breaking the speed limit nine times during the 10-minute 'test drive'.

Now the garage has turned round and said he is no longer welcome at any of their 13 centres – including Weston-super-Mare, where he had a service booked today.

David found out about the test drive when he played back the dash-cam footage and found out the car had been used without his permission.

Repairing a sensor meant the car did not need a test drive, much less a trip to the supermarket. During the drive, the mechanic hit 58mph in a 40mph zone, which could have cost David his driving licence and his chauffeur licence.

He has since posted the video on social media.

David Argust's footage apparently shows the car breaking the speed limit nine times on roads around Cribbs Causeway.
Now the dealership is refusing to maintain his car after the footage was featured in a national newspaper.
